Astrology and Thantra Sastra, incorporated in
the ancient Vedic texts were propounded by the divine sages of yore and
constitute their unparalleled wisdom and revelations. These invariably help
mankind discern in advance the otherwise unpredictable and unforeseen
occurrences in their future life and career, distinguish between the good
and evil consequences thereof and adopt appropriate and effective steps in
good time to ward off the latter and ensure maximization of the benefits of
the former. These are in vogue in India from time immemorial.
The various other strains of sciences developed in other regions of the
world for the prediction and determination of man's future have their roots
in the invaluable treasure of Indian Astrology. If we can anticipate the
events which are to occur in the future and shape our activities accordingly

performed in an appropriate manner following the prescriptions of the
Sastras relieve one of the rigors and hardship of a bad phase.
Progress and welfare are key concepts in human existence. Scientific
research throughout the world, has always been seriously concerned with
exploring ways and means to improve the lot of mankind. And if the quality
of our life has improved over the ages and if we have been able to command
more and more material comforts and benefits rendering our existence on this
planet a more pleasurable and enjoyable experience, that speaks volumes of
the significant contributions made by modern Science in this direction.
However, the various branches of Science, known by specific names such as
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and the like confine themselves to the area
earmarked for each of them and bestow ephemeral benefits to mankind in their
particular domain.
Now while each and every branch of Science in the course of its intensive
research has conferred innumerable material benefits on mankind, one cannot
ignore the fact that the same Science has also helped evolve weapons of mass
destruction including biological weapons, which threaten to wipe out the
entire human race.
No doubt all these basic Sciences with their vast potential for construction
as well as destruction essentially target their research for the progress
and welfare of humanity. But is it not a fact that none of these endeavors
involving billions and billions of dollars and harnessing the best of human
potential has so far been able to predict what lies in store for the man in
his coming days.
